Joyful Kingdom of Montessori (JKM) School was inaugurated on July 5th 2019 blessed by Rev. Fr. Prem Kumar SJ and newly started by Thangam Trust members with a dream of reaching out as many children as possible and make a difference in each one’s life through a child-centered approach to education. Managing Trustee had a long time desire and dream – after gaining a deep working experience at Mothers’ Gurukulam Montessori – to establish a Montessori school on her own. Her conviction in the Montessori Method of education and her long standing desire are immensely supported by Mr. John Joseph founder of the trustee substantially to design and implement a beautiful Montessori environment where in children can enjoy and educate in a right manner to start Montessori school at Kovur, Chennai. His entire tireless service, guidelines of Sr. Elizabeth Rani and all our well-wishes constituted the Joyful Kingdom of Montessori an internationally standard learning academia.
Everything in JKM classroom has a specific use or purpose. There is nothing in the prepared environment that the child cannot see or touch. All of the furniture and equipment is scaled down to the child's size and is within easy reach. Our classroom environment is Living Laboratory which is always busy, productive atmosphere where joy and respect abound. Within such an enriched environment, freedom, responsibility, and social and intellectual development spontaneously flourish!
Our school provides a beautiful Montessori learning environment for our children. Respect - for the self, for each other and for the environment- is the strong foundation of the school and this strong commitment to Montessori philosophy and practices is reflected in all that we do. It is prepared for the exercise and daily practice of choice and decision-making in positive and purposeful endeavor. Our school is very proud and pleased to be able to use the Indian Montessori Curriculum, a highly regarded and valuable resource, which documents the choices and opportunities for work. Each child in our school is assisted to use the specialized Montessori materials and practices to work through the Indian Montessori Curriculum at their own pace.

The philosophy of JKM is based on the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952) whose holistic vision of education focuses on the cognitive, social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of the child and prepare for his /her life-long. The Montessori philosophy is based on supporting the complete development of the child as they progress from birth to adulthood. It takes the broad vision of education as an aid for life.
